If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

Praise report

Just thought I'd put this in as a bit of a celebratory note. I am currently staying at the training college in Sydney and on Friday nights the cadets go out and do pub ministries. Just wanted to put in a praise report of what happened. The comment was, "God was on the prowl tonight." People were back late, because their pub runs were getting longer, not because they were visiting more pubs but because they kept getting engaged in God-related conversations! Between the three cadets we have here in the single women's hostel, there was a total of 10 significant God conversations held last night! So praise God for the way He opens the door for our message of the mystery of Christ. Please also pray for continued opportunities and continued connections with the people spoken to last night. Pray that the seeds that have been planted will not be snatched away but will take root and be nourished.

That's awesome! I'm from Bendigo, and I've got some friends from church that go out on thursdays nights (the big night out here for uni students) to give out free water and muslie bars to all the uni students who are around the streets, less than sober. I've never gone with them (coz i'm a girl and would be too scared. Plus, i haven't had that much experience with drunk people), but the reports i've heard is amazing! I dunno if they've had many God conversations yet, but people remember who they are. One of the guys that does it said that a guy came up to him in the street the other day and said, "hey! you're that guy that gave me free water the other night!" So people do remember and appreciate it. The ministry has so much potential, but we just need more people to help out. Can you please pray that God will provide the people needed? Thanks.
