If you do away with the yoke of oppression, with the pointing finger and malicious talk, and if you spend yourselves in behalf of the hungry and satisfy the needs of the oppressed, then your light will rise in the darkness, and your night will become like the noonday. The LORD will guide you always; he will satisfy your needs in a sun-scorched land and will strengthen your frame. You will be like a well-watered garden, like a spring whose waters never fail.

PUSH - Pray Until Something Happens

So this slightly deviates from the specific purpose of the site, sorry, but I think it's worth putting in here, and does have some definite links.

I'm part of an email ministry group and we have a weekly newsletter that gets mailed out to all the people committed to praying and they also have the opportunity to submit prayer requests. If you are interested in getting involved, you can check out www.push.salvos.com for the website or email phil@push.salvos.com.

Looking forward to this getting up and happening!

I think it's VERY important to remember that prayer needs to precede ministry... we need to be in touch with God, listening to him, to really do his work in this world. Hmmm... only problem is, I can't think of any bible verses to back this up - only examples from Jesus' and apostles' behaviour.
